Vanessa Kelly, PsyD.
Clinical Psychologist
Clinical Psychologist
I specialize in treatments for the following:
I have been practicing psychotherapy for over thirty years, and have trained and supervised hundreds of therapists in developing the skills necessary to do this work. I enjoy the practice of therapy and look forward to connecting with you.
My approach to providing psychotherapy is a blend of psychotherapeutic interventions, based on individual needs and goals in therapy. I have trained extensively in depth/ psychodynamic psychotherapy, with a focus on a developmental, self, and relational approach, as well as in cognitive-behavioral interventions. I believe a broad background of knowledge and skills will guide me to best determine which approach will help you the most.
Sometimes people need the time and space to connect to deeper issues that are causing distress in their lives, and sometimes people need to learn how to identify behaviors or thinking patterns that might interfere with their own goals or needs. In this case, therapy might help people learn the skills to manage their own issues more quickly. Whatever the case may be, therapy is a joint undertaking grounded in a safe space, allowing us to identify the challenges and plan an approach together.
I also offer ongoing clinical supervision or brief clinical consultation to clinicians in a variety of settings either in person or via videoconferencing or telephone. Please contact me for more information.
